This will allow the players to concentrate without distractions. The concept is great and adds mystery and other flavours to the game.
In our last competition, several persons had to be harshly addressed for talking loudly and disturbing the games. Spectators want to be communicating with players and sometimes commenting on the games in progress - we have some ways to go. But the Brazilians have it 'lock'.
This is yet another excellent example of an open out door checkers event that is drawing the curiosity of many spectators, most not having the slightest idea of what is really going here (as far as checkers strategy is concerned). They just know this is big and they want to be a part of it. Some of these same spectators may have went out the next day and bought their first checkers board. This is great promotion of checkers.
